Megan Ferry Rubino
My name is Megan Rubino. I live in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina with my husband Brian and two young children. I graduated from Bucknell University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and a Minor in Art.
After teaching elementary school for 4 years, I returned to East Carolina to receive a second degree in Art Education with a focus in studio art. I moved to the Outer Banks in 2003.
The natural beauty of the Outer Banks motivated me to pursue my true passion, painting. I am inspired by the “little things” and try to capture the essence of my subject matter. I paint many local landscapes attempting to convey the good feelings they bring. I also love traveling to other coastal towns to experience and recreate the local color. I paint in watercolor and acrylic and tend to apply my mediums boldly. I hope my pieces make you feel good and inspire you to embrace the little joys you experience daily!
My works can be found in galleries along the Outer Banks including: KDH Cooperative, KDH; The Full Moon Art Gallery, Manteo; Sea and Sounds DCAC gallery, Manteo; Pea Island Art Gallery, Salvo; Bella Fiore, Ocracoke; The Wooden Feather, Duck; EI Surf Shop, Emerald Isle. I also participate in local art shows.
